Meet The architect

Hi. I’m Carla.

For years, I believed I was simply “bad at being a person.”

Not in a dramatic sense—but in the quiet, persistent way where everything required more effort than it seemed to for everyone else. I learned to overperform inside that reality. I built discipline where there was confusion. I built achievement where there was friction.

What I didn’t know at the time was that I was navigating undiagnosed ADHD.

That gap in understanding didn’t just create struggle—it shaped how I viewed myself. And like many individuals who go undiagnosed, the cost wasn’t just functional. It was psychological.

That experience now informs my work.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Certified Autism Disorder Specialist, and a Certified ADHD Specialist based in Brevard County, Florida. My clinical focus centers on neurodivergence, identity development, and the intersection between nervous system regulation and daily functioning.

But my work extends beyond traditional therapy models.

Before I had clinical language, I understood regulation through design—specifically through clothing. I observed early on how sensory input, structure, and presentation influenced confidence, behavior, and emotional stability. Clinical training later gave me the framework to articulate what I had already been practicing intuitively.

That integration led me to develop the FAR-CHETYPE™ System—a framework that applies principles of nervous system regulation to wearable design.

Through this model, I founded NEURA, an emerging concept at the intersection of mental health, sensory science, and functional design. Each product is engineered not only for aesthetic value, but to support regulation, grounding, and psychological safety in real-world environments.

This work also introduced what I define as Diagnostic Fashion—the concept that clothing can function as both self-expression and a form of non-invasive, daily regulation. It challenges the separation between clinical intervention and lived experience, offering a more integrated, accessible approach to care.

While my foundation is rooted in serving neurodivergent populations, the broader application is universal. Regulation is not exclusive to diagnosis. Many individuals experience dysregulation without clinical language—and without accessible tools to support themselves.

My goal is to expand how we think about mental health care:

Not only as something that happens in sessions, but as something embedded into daily life, environments, and systems people interact with every day.

I am particularly interested in scaling models that bridge clinical practice with innovative, preventative approaches—especially those that increase accessibility, reduce stigma, and meet individuals where they are.

Because effective care should not begin only once someone is in crisis.

It should be built into how they live.
